[ARCHIVED] PSE&G to Begin Construction on Gas Line System Improvements

PSEG

Roadwork and construction expected to last 45 – 90 days

EAST ORANGE, NJ, JULY 10, 2018: In order to ensure the continued safety and reliability of gas service to the residents of East Orange, PSE&G will begin replacing piping throughout the community.

Beginning the week of July 9th (if weather permits), PSE&G will upgrade gas lines, starting on McKay Avenue. During construction, streets will be closed one block at a time. Residents will receive letters of notice prior to construction and emergency parking signs will be posted. Please adhere to the times and days on all emergency parking signs.

After construction, a PSE&G technician will need to access affected homes to connect the service line and gas meter to the new gas main. Homeowners and property owners will be contacted in advance to arrange a date and time to do the work. During reconnection, residents can expect to be without gas service for about 4 hours.

The following streets will be impacted:

  • McKay Avenue
  • Rutledge Avenue
  • Ely Place
  • Kenmore Terrace
  • Ross Street
  • Maple Avenue
  • N. Clinton Street
  • Cleveland Terrance
  • Sanford Street
  • Roosevelt Avenue
  • Prospect Street
