Starting April 29, 2019, the East Orange Water Department will commence its Annual Hydrant Flushing program. The flushing will take place Monday-Thursday, 7:30pm - 11:30pm, until completed. During this time, residents in the area may experience cloudy/brownish water. Please refrain from washing clothes for the sediment in the water will cause staining. After 11:30pm, run the cold water in your home at the lowest floor, e.g. the basement, until the water clears.
Weather permitting, the flushing schedule is as follows:
- 3rd Ward: 4/29-5/1
- 2nd Ward: 4/30-5/2
- 4th Ward: 5/6-5/7
- 1st Ward: 5/7-5/8
- 5th Ward: 5/9-5/14
