East Orange, N.J., May 24, 2019: The City of East Orange, under the leadership of Mayor Ted R. Green, the East Orange City Council, and the Department of Public Works, will be sponsoring a Citywide Spring Clean Up and Free Shredding on Saturday, June 1, 2019, between 9am-2pm.
Neighborhood groups, businesses, organizations and individuals are all invited to participate. Supplies will be provided at City Hall Plaza starting at 8:30am. Free shredding will take place between 9am and 2pm at 44 City Hall Plaza. The first 100 participants will receive free T-shirts.
Cleaning up the city and restoring pride in East Orange has been a priority of the Green Administration, starting with his highly-touted initiative, “Mayor on the Block,” which includes Mayor Green and his Quality of Life Task Force targeting neighborhoods bi-weekly to talk to constituents and address concerns, some right on the spot.
“Keeping our city clean is the responsible of everyone who lives and works here. As a city, we cannot do it alone and we are excited to bring back a sense of pride in our community as we work toward uniting people all over East Orange toward one common goal — progress,” said Mayor Green.
