[ARCHIVED] East Orange Public Safety Prohibits Non-Emergency Pedestrian Traffic to Its Facilities

East Orange, NJ, March 17, 2020: In an effort to do our part in minimizing the spread of the Coronavirus, the East Orange Department of Public Safety Department, in tandem with other law enforcement agencies across the United States, will be prohibiting non-emergency pedestrian traffic to its Police, Fire, EMS and OEM facilities for the next 15 days, effective March 17 at 5pm.

Only authorized employees and official deliveries will be allowed. Residents are reminded and encouraged to dial 911 for any public safety emergencies. Any questions or concerns regarding the Coronavirus should be directed to the East Orange Health Department Hotline at 973-266-5480.

Appointments for the release of towed vehicles or police reports must be made by calling 973-266-5010 between the hours of 8am and 4pm (M-F) and  9am to 11am on Saturday. Police, Fire, EMS and OEM are committed to provide continued customer service during this unique and difficult time, and our personnel thank everyone for their understanding, patience and cooperation during these extenuating circumstances. Our goal is to protect our first responders in order to render aide as the Coronavirus crisis continues to evolve.
