June 4, 2020, East Orange, NJ: Mayor Ted R. Green will be hosting a Special Virtual Town Hall this evening at 6pm to focus on the other crisis America is facing with a frank conversation on “Peace, But Not Patience: A Discussion on Social Justice, Civil Rights and Empowerment.

Special guests will include: Vinnie Brown of Naughty by Nature, Rev. Dana P. Owens, Pastor of Messiah Baptist Church, Second Ward Councilwoman Brittany D. Claybrooks, Police Chief Phyllis Bindi, Student Council President Sage McPhatter-Davis and STEM Academy Senior Anissa Jean-Pierre.

“We have been dealing with injustices against black and brown people for centuries and justice cannot come swiftly enough for the officers involved in the tragic murder of George Floyd. People all over the world are outraged at what they witnessed at the hands of yet another police officer who broke his oath to protect and serve,” said Mayor Ted. R. Green. “We are sick and tired of being sick and tired and enough is enough. Like President Barack Obama said, we need to figure out how to transform our anger and cynicism into meaningful activism and reform."

All are invited to tune in on FB LIVE@EOCItyHall on Thursday, June 4 at 6pm, You Tube@East Orange City Hall or dial in at 862.213.3758.
