East Orange, NJ, June 8, 2020: “Citizen voices are important in keeping cities moving forward – which is why we have transitioned our community meetings to VIRTUAL community meetings effective immediately,” according to Christopher D. James, Chairman of the East Orange City Council. “The pandemic has provided a new platform for the city of East Orange – we are seeing record numbers of citizen engagement – it was a natural pivot for us to host our Community Meetings virtually.”
The Chairman said this is why the East Orange City Council returned to hosting Community Meetings last Wednesday. A VIRTUAL Community Meeting will be held in each of the city’s five wards.
The Fifth Ward Community Meeting was the first VIRTUAL Community Meeting for East Orange residents and the Third Ward Community Meeting was held on June 9, 2020.
Upcoming Ward Community Meetings will be held as follows:
- Second Ward Wednesday, June 10
- Fourth Ward Wednesday, June 17
- Fifth Ward Tuesday, June 23
