[ARCHIVED] Ted R. Green Foundation and Sponsors to Give Out Nearly 5,000 Turkeys on Sat, Nov 21

Thanksgiving Giveaway

East Orange, November 19, 2020: Mayor Ted R. Green and First Lady June Green, The Ted R. Green Foundation and Sponsors will kick off the holiday season by distributing nearly 5,000 turkeys to families in the City of East Orange during their Annual Holiday “Day of Giving” Turkey Giveaway. 

The event will take place at Calvary Baptist Church located at 66 S. Grove Street on Saturday, November 21 beginning at 12pm. 

"There is no doubt that this year has been challenging for all of us and we are grateful for the generosity and support of our donors and volunteers who are making this event a safe and healthy one for our residents,” said Mayor Ted Green. "Despite the pandemic, the holiday spirit and gift of giving is as present as ever. We are so thankful for our blessings and our ability to share those blessings with the families in our community."

Residents can choose to drive up and have turkeys placed in the rear of their vehicles or they can walk up to the church’s entrance. Wearing masks and social distancing guidelines will be strictly enforced. The remaining turkeys and food items will be delivered personally by Mayor Green to seniors and disabled residents.
