September 30, 2021, East Orange, NJ: The East Orange Business Association (EOBA) will launch its first Small Business Crawl on Saturday, October 2, 2021. The crawl will begin in front of East Orange City Hall Plaza and travel to more than 20 businesses across all five wards in the city. The intent of the project is to showcase and celebrate the diverse array of businesses found in East Orange and to help local business owners recover from the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Crawl participants will receive a “business crawl passport” to celebrate and track each business visit while undergoing an interactive, multi-purpose shopping experience. Businesses will offer special promotions and exclusive offers to passport holders and participants will receive passport stamps for each visit. At the end of the event, which officially begins at 2pm until 5:30pm, participants are asked to return to City Hall to submit their passports and receive prizes.
“Our business community has endured one of the toughest economic setbacks of our lifetimes,” said Mayor Ted R. Green. “I applaud the efforts of the East Orange Business Association in organizing and creating this opportunity to introduce or reintroduce our local businesses to our residents and visitors. We want to give them our full support and do whatever we can to incentivize consumers to buy local.”
