[ARCHIVED] East Orange Hosts Annual Holiday Toy Giveaway on December 21 with Special Guest Santa Claus

Santa

December 21, 2021, East Orange, NJ: Mayor Ted R. Green, East Orange City Council, and the Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs will host the Annual Holiday Toy Giveaway on Tuesday December 21, 2021.

Starting at 5pm in front of East Orange City Hall, Mayor Green, members of the East Orange City Council and staff from the Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs — along with special guest Santa Claus — will be giving away toys to children who reside in East Orange.

While the Toy Giveaway is open for all East Orange Residents to participate, toys will be distributed first to individuals who received a toy voucher at the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony which took place on December 7. All other children will receive toys on a first come, first served basis.

“This holiday season, my gift to my community, is the gift of giving. Every child deserves the opportunity to have a magical holiday season. It is our duty, as the community, to be a blessing to our younger residents and show them that the greatest gifts of all are kindness and love.”

The City of East Orange has more than 1,500 toy donations provided by dedicated employees, residents and partnering agencies. With various drop-off sites within the city, including the Mayor’s Annual Holiday Party, this year’s Toy Drive has been one of the most successful events of the year. For more information, please call the Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs 973.414.4141.
