Pediatric Vaccine Clinic

January 27, 2022, East Orange, NJ: Mayor Ted R. Green, the East Orange City Council and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), in partnership with the East Orange School District and the East Orange YMCA, will launch a COVID-19 Pediatric Vaccination Clinic from January 31 – February 28 at East Orange STEM Academy located at 129 Renshaw Ave. Residents 5 through 11 years old will be eligible to receive a dose of the FDA-approved Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine.

The clinic will operate on Mondays from 3:30pm to 7pm and Saturdays form 11am to 2pm through the month of February. Families are strongly encouraged to pre-register, however walk-ins are welcome and will be served on first come, first serve basis while supplies last.

Dr. Monique Griffith, Director of DHHS, announced that information sessions regarding the vaccine will be held as a resource to families who are seeking additional guidance on the pediatric vaccination. Children who visit the clinic and receive their vaccination will also receive giveaways.

As of today, the City of East Orange has 16,554 cumulative positive cases of COVID-19 with 359 COVID-19 related deaths. With the latest variants Delta and Omicron continuing to aggressively spread, Dr. Griffith emphasizes how important it is for all residents to get vaccinated and help stop the spread.

Social distancing will be practiced at the clinic and those entering will be required to wear face coverings.
