East Orange, NJ, September 12, 2022:  The East Orange Fire Department will conduct its annual fire hydrant inspections starting Monday, September 19 on weekdays from 9am-4:30pm throughout the month of September. 

During this process, water may become brown from sediment that has built up in the water mains. Residents are advised to avoid doing laundry for several hours if hydrants are being tested in their area. If water appears brownish and does not return to normal after running the tap for a few minutes, residents should contact EOFD at 973-266-5507.
