The East Orange Farmer’s Market, which runs seasonally every other Tuesday between June and October, is held at 44 City Hall Plaza and is anchored by three farm operations from Essex County, the Garden State and the Caribbean. It also features 15-20 local artisan vendors and a guest DJ who delivers familiar beats that resonate throughout the entire marketplace. Managed by the Department of Policy, Planning and Development, the Farmer’s Market serves as a community hub to eat, shop, connect and support small, local businesses. It also promotes health and wellness among residents aligned with Mayor Ted R. Green’s commitment to the important connection between mind, body and spirit.
“We look forward to opening our Farmer’s Market every year to showcase our community vendors and to provide access to fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, plants and more from our state and the Caribbean,” said Mayor Green. “By re-connecting our community to the direct source of locally-grown foods, we are helping to encourage healthier lifestyles and overall well-being, ultimately making our community stronger.”
Market sponsors include NJ SNAP, Jersey Fresh, and City Green’s Good Food Bucks.
