For Immediate Release
East Orange, NJ, March 15, 2017: “I want to assure residents that we have heard your concerns about the icy conditions of our roadways and we are asking for your patience as we continue to clean up in the aftermath of Tuesday’s storm,” said Mayor Lester E. Taylor III. “Winter Storm Stella, combined with the freezing temperatures that followed, severely hindered the progress of our snow removal operations. Our Public Works employees have been working around the clock since Monday afternoon to prepare for and tackle this storm. We’ve identified areas in need of improvement and each one is being addressed as quickly as possible.”
“In cooperation with our efforts, please do not shovel snow back into the street,” he added. “For snow-related emergencies, please contact the Department of Public Works at 973.266.5330.”
