East Orange, NJ April 17, 2017: Beginning the week of April 17, 2017, the East Orange Water Department will commence its Hydrant Flushing Program. To minimize the impact to our residents, the flushing will occur in the evening between 8pm and midnight. Residents may experience low pressure/cloudy water during this time. 

Please refrain from washing clothes between 8pm and midnight for they may stain. The following morning, run the cold water at the lowest point of the residence for a few minutes to clear the line. 

The flushing will conclude on or around May 26, 2017. The schedule is as follows:

Week 1: Third Ward

April 17-21

Week 2: Fourth Ward

April 24-28

Week 3: Second Ward

May 1-5

Week 4: First Ward

May 8-12

Week 5: Fifth Ward

May 15-19
