COUNCILMAN CASIM L. GOMEZ was sworn into office on January 1, 2016 to represent the Fourth Ward. Councilman Gomez has been involved in youth activities in the City of East Orange for many years. He served as a Trustee to the East Orange Public Library Board of Trustees. Councilman Gomez attended Seton Hall University and subsequently received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bloomfield College. He has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Behavior from Fairleigh Dickerson University. After a career working for various financial institutions, he decided to focus on civic engagement and service. He believes progress comes from engagement, communication and teamwork. Councilman Gomez has served as Chairman of the Planning & Grants Committee and also served as a member of the Public Safety, Arts, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and Business Development and Zoning Committees.
